If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind James 1:5-6
Father, our heavenly Father who knows all things and gives us wisdom, we are thankful that You are a God Who is generous. You are faithful and kind to us when we are foolish, and You give us the wisdom we lack. We ask for wisdom today concerning our family. Give us wisdom generously and abundantly so we may know how to speak to them, to pray for them and when to be silent. Make us wise and so we may share Your beautiful redemption with others. Give us wisdom to love our children and families with Your love and not with our own reasoning. Give us wisdom to recognize You in their lives and in the circumstances that grieve us. We want Your wisdom and not our own experiences to lead us in our relationship with them. Give us Your wisdom and let our hearts believe that we have it. We want to believe that Your wisdom is speaking and not our own desires. We will not doubt Your generosity and faithfulness to make us wise. We believe in You and so now we can believe and not be tossed around by the situations they face. Make us steadfast and give us resolve to refuse to be blown about with the winds of change and fear concerning them.
We believe that You are protecting Israel and we are in awe of Your power over them. Comfort the weary as they fight again today and heal the brokenhearted. We see they are turning to You and we are grateful. Stir their faith in You and give them open hearts to believe. Make them wise and remove the blinders so they can see Jesus.
Bless our nation with rulers and leaders who are wise and not easily thrown about in the wind and waves. Give them the resolve to stay with wisdom and not flinch. Let them hear Your heart and move to protect Your people and us. Give our justices the wisdom to rule the law with Your perfect plan.
We praise You and we are thankful for a God who is generous and kind, who doesn’t find fault with us, but instead gives us generously the wisdom of Salvation.
In Christ alone.
