The Lord delights in me

He sent from on high, he took me; he drew me out of many waters.

He rescued me from my strong enemy and from those who hated me,

for they were too mighty for me. They confronted me in the day of my calamity,

but the Lord was my support. He brought me out into a broad place; he rescued me, because he delighted in me. Psalm 18:16-29

Father, Our God, we thank You that You will take our children and families out of many waters. The enemy cannot stand against You, You have overcome him.

We know that the evil one hates them and wants to destroy them and we thank You that while he is too mighty for them, You are greater. The enemy wants them surrounded and we know that You will bring them into a safe place and give them refuge in You.

You delight in our families and You will rescue them. We pray this for them, and we ask that You bring their spouses (and their future spouses) into this marvelous light. Bless them with Your delight. We pray this over our children, and we believe that You never leave them.

Father, draw our husbands out of the many waters that try to overcome them. Draw them out of the enemies’ hands and delight in them. Let them be a joy to You as they worship You.

Surround our grandchildren with Your protection. When the enemy tries to overcome them, fight for them. Rescue them and delight in them. Bless them with the joy of knowing You. Bless them, they are in Your hands,

Give Jerusalem sight to see and deliver them into peace.

Bless our nation and “let the heart of the king be in the hands of the Lord.

In Christ alone
