The Word was with God

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. John 1:1-4

Father, this morning we think on Your Word, Your Son who was with You when You created the world. Your light is our very life and we thank You. We worship You. Give us a heart to understand the grace and love that came forth before creation and the grace and love that hung on the cross.

Enlarge our hearts to receive more of You and let us lay down anything that keeps us from comprehending that love. We pray that our families have the life of Light in them. We are thankful that the darkness cannot understand the work that You are doing in them. We know that Your Word is accomplishing what You sent it to do. They are men and women who have gifts and callings and today we ask that they fulfill those callings and walk in the Life that is the Light.

Give them Light and Life and let Your Word live in them. Bless their spouses with the Word and give them the Light that is Jesus. Heal them, deliver them from the past, and give them a new hope in You.

Bless our husbands with this Word, It is full of the Light that created the world and Who sacrificed for us. Bless them with wisdom and heal their bodies and stir their hearts to You. Give them a hunger for the Word and let them walk in the full knowledge of Christ.

Bless our grandchildren with the joy of walking in the Light and knowing the Life of being in You. Surround them with people who comprehend the Light and teach them the Word, write it on their hearts, and protect them from the darkness. Give them a hunger to know You. Prepare spouses and jobs and lives for them. Bless them and bring them to the Life You created for them.

Bless Israel with peace and salvation

Bless our nation with peace and turn us back to You. Forgive us and teach us Your ways.
