Awake!

But when anything is exposed by the light, it becomes visible, for anything that becomes visible is light. Therefore, it says, “Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.” Ephesians 5:13-14

Heavenly Father, as this day unfolds, shine Your light on us so we may empty ourselves. Direct our paths with Your perfect will. Shine the light on our families and make all things visible to them. Shine the light on those who are deeply hurt and angry.  Awaken their hearts and raise them from their sleep. Restore our dead to us so we might sing together about Your wonderous salvation.  Shine Christ on them and give them the repentance that tells them they need You.   Wake up the sleeping ones and have them fill their lamps with oil. Surround them so that everything that they see and hear reveals the Christ to their hearts. Surround them with friends and spouses who encourage their faith. Stir their partners to desire the deep things of God. Shine Your light on them. Restore our families and may we all praise You together throughout all eternity.

Bless Israel and we pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Shine the light of the Messiah on them and make all things known to their hearts. Open their eyes to see You and receive the glory of Jesus.

We turn from our own ways and ask You to heal our land. Make visible the hidden things that would destroy us. Turn our darkness into light and may we be forgiven as a nation, as we, Your people, repent. Bless Your Holy name!
