Be a tree

Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord. He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit. Jeremiah 17:7-8

Our Holy God, we trust You, we trust You alone. We are not afraid of the heat, and we are not anxious during the drought. We continue to bear fruit. Our roots are spreading out to the water of the Word and our leaves remain green. We believe that our children and families are in Your hands and You have called them to be Yours. You raised them with the Word and it is planted deep in their souls. They cannot escape it and they will grow, because they are near the water, their hearts send out its roots by the stream and they will bear fruit. We believe their leaves remain green and they will always bear fruit. Even when they think their leaves are dying, they will not fall off the branch, because the Word is life and they are near the water. The heat causes the roots to grow deeper and deeper and when it is time, they will bring forth the blossoms of the fruit. We praise You for Your glorious promise to sustain them even when everything appears to be dead and dry. Your Word does not fail.

We praise You for Your glorious Son

Bless Israel and let their roots grow and prosper them as they turn to the Living God. Protect them and let the leaves remain green, even during this long separation from You.

Bless our nation and give us the courage to fight the evil that would overwhelm us. Turn our hearts to the Word and give us the water of the Word. Plant the hearts of the leaders and rulers by the Word and give us the sure knowledge that You are God of all, even the drought.

We praise You today for the work that You are doing in the hearts and lives of Your people, You are our Holy God.

We thank You, In Christ alone
